Established in 1976, AGU is a standard bearer for academic excellence, serving thousands of dedicated professionals from government, military, and industry.

UNIVERSITY MISSION

The mission of American Graduate University is to develop and deliver quality graduate distance education at a reasonable cost in the areas of acquisition and contract management, project/program management, supply chain management and overall leadership and general management that meets and exceeds the needs of its students.

GOALS OF THE UNIVERSITY

  Meet the increasing demand on corporate and government entities for further education in the subject fields in which the University specializes.

  Provide an educational delivery method that is flexible, productive and cost-effective.

  Anticipate and provide new or revised programs that meet the ever-changing requirements of the University’s market areas.

  Provide exemplary admissions, course registration fulfillment, student services and record-keeping while demonstrating a commitment to helping students and faculty in a courteous, ethical and timely manner.

  Foster an environment that promotes a life of learning for its students and faculty and uses feedback from its community to continuously improve the quality of its instruction, learning and support services.

UNIVERSITY OBJECTIVES

The general objectives of the University for each student are to provide:

  A foundation in the general management principles applicable to the operation of any business and their specific application to the areas of acquisition management, project/program management, contract management, supply chain management, and general management.

  A comprehension of his or her own present functional interests in relation to business as a whole, and to the total economic, political, technological and social environment.

  An explanation of the importance of management and leadership in business.

  An increased ability to research and solve problems independently.

  A recognition of the proper relationship of basic principles to the changing techniques used to implement them.

  Facility in critical analysis, and analytical, communication, quantitative and synthesizing skills.

  A combination of breadth in the total knowledge area, with a detailed, saleable amount of depth in functional specialty areas.

ACCREDITATION AND APPROVALS

American Graduate University’s programs are nationally accredited by the Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC). DEAC is listed by the U.S. Department of Education as a recognized accrediting agency. DEAC is also recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).

American Graduate University has institutional approval from the California Bureau of Private Postsecondary Education to grant degrees. Approval means that AGU is in compliance with state standards set forth in California Education Code Title 3, Division 10, Part 59, Chapter 8.

AGU degrees and certificates in contract management, acquisition management, supply chain management, program/project management, business administration, leadership, and management are emblems of outstanding achievement sought after by those who demand a comprehensive, rigorous and fulfilling learning experience in order to advance in their careers and to contribute fully to their organizations and to their country.
